Company History

Beneficiation Technology has been providing mining industry technology and consulting for over 40 years. Beneficiation Technologies Reagents, LLC is an affiliate of Beneficiation Technologies which has developed a revolutionary froth modifier technology for mineral flotation. The BenTech Reagents founders are proud to support the mining industry with over 200 years of combined mining and process chemical manufacturing experience.

Product Information

Our unique blend of chemically modified hydrocarbon-based froth modifiers has been tested on multiple feedstocks and has proven to be far superior to current mining industry froth modifiers and collector extenders. Each reagent is custom designed to the specific mineral flotation application. The manufacturing process chemistry is the key to a higher performing reagent:

  • The process increases the hydrophobic and hydrophilic abilities of the extender/froth modifier which includes surface tension enhancement for bubble formation
  • Improved selectivity is achieved by changing the angle of inducement of the collector to the ion of interest and creating new molecules by removing chemical impurities from the organometallic additives that are normally present in base reagents used in froth modifiers
  • These chemical impurities interfere with foaming and bubble formation, therefore their removal from the extender/froth modifier significantly improves the flotation efficiency
  • Many of the additives present in the extender/froth modifier contain carbon to oxygen double bonds which have an affinity to cations, therefore the process essentially creates collectors which can mimic the commercial collectors that are used in the mineral flotation industry

Expected Benefits

BenTech Reagents helps mineral processing companies achieve their maximum potential by extracting finite resources sustainably with optimal cost, recovery, and environmental solutions. Expected benefits include:

  • Improved primary flotation recovery
  • Improved selectivity which results in higher concentrate grade
  • Significantly lower froth modifier usage
  • Due to its collecting properties, it performs better at reduced collector amounts and is capable of floating a coarser size fraction
  • Environmentally friendly/biodegradable
